Calorex Variheat Series 1A basic, yet high performance range of air handling units for use with distribution ductwork.

All units vertically configured and normally built with the spigot on top for air off

Specifications

The Variheat Series 1 provides dehumidification and has its own humidistat. Plumbing connections are also provided for recovering heat to the pool water. However, heating and controls for both air and pool water are not built into these units.

Variheat Series 1 units provide an ideal budget solution for high capacity dehumidification. These units are also available with low output fan and/or rear air outlet options. All units include an integral humidistat, but no integral air heating facility.

Pool water connections are applicable. Units incorporate a defrost facility enabling them to operate in colder conditions.

The Series 2 Variheat provides humidity control, air heating, water heating and also incorporates a fully integrated control package.

The Variheat 2 system recovers both sensible and, more importantly, latent heat from the pool hall air during the dehumidification process.

The recovered energy is directed in varying quantities back to the pool hall air and the pool water making the system extremely economic.

The Variheat 2 incorporates a pool water heat exchanger and air heater battery, which provides the back up heating. These are fed by low-pressure hot water (LPHW) from a separate boiler.

The fully integrated control package includes the following:

  • Digital air and pool water temperature setting and indication
  • Analogue humidity setting
  • Pool cover on time clock to enable air temperature set back to further reduce energy consumption
  • Indicator lights for power on, defrost, dehumidification, air heating and water heating

The Variheat Series 2 is available with either top or bottom outlet to suit ductwork layout. All that is required to enable the unit to do what it does best is a sufficient supply of electricity and LPHW.

Calorex Variheat Series 2 Added Advantages

The Variheat 2 can easily be installed in an adjacent plant room

Supply air ducting can be connected to the Variheat 2 to re circulate the air, promote uniform conditions throughout the enclosure, and provide a warm air curtain to the glazed areas. The ductwork can be concealed above the ceiling or under the floor.

Space heating is carried out by a fully controlled heater battery, fed by a primary hot water circuit from a separate boiler. This method of air heating promotes consistent air temperatures and eliminates unsightly and hazardous radiators around the pool hall.

Economic pool water heating is provided by an integral heat exchange also fed by LPHW

A control panel with displays is incorporated within the Variheat 2 reducing overall installation time and the need for extra wiring.
